It has been confirmed that on 8th January 2018 both Severn bridges will come into public ownership, with the tolls for these bridges coming to an end by 31st December of the same year.
On Sunday 9th July, the Orchard Trust held their annual summer fair. A record number of visitors attended the day service site in Lydbrook where, with the sun beaming down, they enjoyed live music from Which One’s Gerry and Lydbrook Training Band, a traditional Punch and Judy show, roaming reptiles, birds of prey and an array of stalls and games.
The Innsworth Military Wives Choir, The Lydney Primary Schools Choir and the Lydney Training Band came together on Saturday 13th May at Lydney Town Hall for a lively evening packed with music and fun!
The Severn Area Rescue Association (SARA) is a large independent multi-disciplinary volunteer search and rescue organisation. They have 6 bases that they operate from ranging from the Newport area of the Severn River up to Wolverhampton. They rely solely upon volunteers and have approximately 170 personnel on call from the local areas, with even more available to help with fundraising.
Basepoint Chepstow have teamed up with Peninsula to bring an exciting free event to the centre on Wednesday 28th June 2017.
