This annual inspirational event for business leaders who want to achieve high growth attracts up to 100 CEOs, MDs and Directors and key decision makers from Sussex and beyond.

Attendees come from businesses across multiple sectors including digital media, construction, IT services and professional and environmental services. Embracing the theme of ‘Brave New World’, the event features speakers and workshops focused on futurology, technology and the economy.

The speakers, content and format of this prestigious event enable senior business leaders to take away new ideas and perspectives to equip their businesses to develop and grow in a rapidly changing world. This will also be a great opportunity to experience the real benefits of Peer Learning sessions in action.

Guest speakers for 2017 include:

Rob Andrew MBE – CEO of Sussex County Cricket Club Rob is a former English rugby union player and was, until April 2016, Professional Rugby Director at the Rugby Football Union. As a player, Rob was assured in his kicking and defensive skills off both feet. After graduating from Cambridge, where he also had a brief career in first-class cricket, Rob joined the Wasps as fly-half, playing in that position for eight seasons at the North London club. During his time as a Wasp, the team won the English League in 1990 and Rob played as fly-half for England for ten years, two of which he was captain, and earned 71 caps. During his international career, Rob held the record for most international points scored in one match, scoring 30 against Canada in 1994. In January 2017 Rob took up the role as Chief Executive of Sussex County Cricket Club.

Jeremy Cook – Chief Economist, World First
Jeremy is one of the UK’s leading voices on foreign exchange, and you’ll regularly find him on television and across the national media giving his unique, thoughtful insight. He has made regular appearances on BBC News, BBC Radio 5 Live and Newsnight, as well as in leading blogs and Newspapers. Having started out at HSBC in the City of London, Jeremy decided on a move into currency after a brief stint in private equity advice. He joined World First in 2007 as a Corporate Dealer when the Corporate Desk at World First consisted of only five people. He took on the role as World First’s Chief Economist in 2010 and posts daily on the impact of world politics on the economy.

Luke Aldrich – Chairman of ROCC
Luke was CEO of ROCC, a successful software house focusing on Housing and the Public Sector, for 16 years before becoming Chairman in January 2016. Luke took over at 30 years of age from his father Michael Aldrich, former ROCC chairman and CEO, Chairman of the Tavistock Institute, Chairman of the board of governors at the University of Brighton, government advisor, author of the seminal prediction of the future of technology 'Key to the Wired City' and the inventor of online shopping. During his time as CEO, Luke bought three companies, sold one, ran a business in Eastern Europe and helped to launch a number of internal new product and service innovations. Luke is involved with various charity initiatives and he also chairs a Pension Fund and has considerable experience in Marketing, Leadership, Management and Personal Coaching.

Refreshments are included throughout the afternoon and the event concludes with a drinks reception with canapes.

THE ORIGINAL LEADER’S EVENT WILL RUN FROM 1.45PM TO 7.30PM ON WEDNESDAY 4TH OCTOBER 2017 AT THE NEWLY RENOVATED ATTENBOROUGH CENTRE FOR THE CREATIVE ARTS AT SUSSEX UNIVERSITY.
