Companies encouraged to enter 2017 Dorset Business Awards

Weymouth

Companies committed to employing apprenticeships are being encouraged to enter the 2017 Dorset Business Awards.

As sponsors of a new award category in this year's awards, organised by the Dorset Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DCCI), Sunseeker International is searching for the county's top businesses.

The Sunseeker International Outstanding Contribution to Apprenticeships Award will celebrate the effort and investment that Dorset businesses are making to apprentice recruitment and training.Keen to promote the value of apprenticeship training to employers, parents and students across Dorset, Sunseeker International currently has approximately 100 apprentices under training and for more than 35 years has sourced exceptional talent to deliver their operational and strategic objectives through apprenticeships.

Alex Bowman, talent manager at Sunseeker International, said: “This category is all about recognising that every company in Dorset, no matter how small or large, new or old, can benefit from the recruitment and training of apprentices.

"We are very keen to ensure that all boards of directors, entrepreneurs and operational leaders review their commitment to apprenticeship training and as such we are looking forward to finding an exceptional role model company in this category.

“We know that on the ground, apprenticeship schemes are only successful because of the time and personal commitment that employees give to make their own programme work. So we are really excited to be able to acknowledge publicly those individuals and companies that really do make an outstanding contribution to apprenticeships.

"Their impact goes far beyond training and employment; it is often life-changing for those involved.”The awards are held in association with the Daily Echo and Dorset Echo, backed by Wave 105 and are free to enter.

Entrants can submit an entry via dorsetbusinessawards.co.uk prior to the closing date on Sunday, September 3.

Entry is open to all companies which are based in Dorset with a BH or DT postcode and membership of DCCI is not required to enter.
