Ladies celebrate turning their hobby into a business 3 years on

The ladies of KIS (Keep it simple) quilting will be celebrating 3 years at Basepoint this November and are getting ready to put the banners out.

What started as a hobby making quilts and teaching people to sew became a business idea in November 2014 when they moved into a workshop setting up sewing machines and displaying the quilts that had already been made.

As word spread their business grew, the ladies now run several sewing classes, sell quality fabrics and  provide a welcoming, friendly atmoshpere. They are also big supporters of the Macmillan Coffee morning each year consistently raising funds to support the cancer charity.

Centre Manager, Alison Morrissey has been thrilled to see their business go from strength to strength and commented "When the ladies initially talked about turning their hobby into business we had no idea of the interest this would generate, it is an absolute pleasure to have KIS Quilting at Basepoint with us and seeing them go from strength to strength is a joy".
