Another Successful Networking Event at Basepoint!

Centre manager,Mark Chivers hosted a very well attended and interesting network event all about General Data Protection regulations

Guest speakers  Freya Claydon and Jonathan Craddock from Hybrid Legal presented a very informative  discussion explaining in detail what GDPR means for your business.

The biggest changes in data protection for 20 years are coming into force on the 25th May 2018 in the form of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). 

 Freya and Jonathan, gave  practical steps  and advise on what  you need to do inorder  to comply with the new legislation.

They explained how  GDPR will affect how you gain the consent of your customers and employees to process and store their personal data.

Also discussed was  how individuals will also gain greater rights to access, amend and remove the personal data you hold about them.

New sanctions are being introduced for businesses who don’t comply with the new data protection requirements and businesses were  urged to start acting now.
