Centre Manager Completes Midnight Walk for Charity

Ipswich

Ipswich centre manager Alison Morrissey took part in the midnight walk for St Elizabeth Hospice on the 12th of May.

10 miles may not sound like much; but centre manager Alison Morrissey can certainly testify that it is!

The annual midnight walk, which aims to raise funds for local charity St Elizabeth Hospice, took place on Saturday 12th of May this year. With entrants starting and finishing at local venue- Trinity park.

Clad in neon clothing and covered in an array of glow sticks, brave attendees set off at 10:30pm, with most people completing the challenging walk between 1am and 2am the next morning.

Despite torrential rain falling for a majority of the event, Ali completed the walk in 3 hours and raised a fantastic £255, with the total raised for the evening exceeding £3,000,000!

"It was definitely a lot more challenging than I was expecting. The weather conditions were pretty dismal but it didn't dampen anyones spirits and it felt incredible to be a part of something which is such a tradition for Ipswich whilst raising money for a fantastic cause"
