COLLABORATIVE WORKSPACE PROVIDES IDEAL ENVIRONMENT ‘TO START UP AND SCALE UP’

Weymouth

There’s no doubt that embarking on finding your first professional premises is a difficult task and there’s a lot to consider. Many factors will need to be considered before making that final decision, with collaborative working being one of the solutions.

Location, cost, size of space and length of contract will all be high on the list, and there are many variable factors that will influence these decisions.

The key is to ensure that you’re prepared – as far as you can be – for the ebbs and flows that come with being a small business and take workspace from a provider that will allow you to start up – then scale up.

According to research by workspace provider IWG Plc, flexible, collaborative work- space may be the ideal solution. The survey, which canvassed the opinions of business owners and senior managers from across the globe, revealed that the vast majority of small company owners believe collaborative work environments are better for business than traditional leased premises. In the poll, small firms reported that collaborative workplaces provide better value for money (79%), help them scale their businesses rapidly (79%) and are the ideal environment for start-ups to thrive (74%).

Richard Morris, UK CEO at IWG Plc comments:

“Deciding where to work is a fundamental question facing every small and growing business. The ideal workplace should enable each member of the workforce to get their job done in the most productive way possible, working where, when and how it suits them. Fortunately, today’s business owners have a multitude of practical options available to them, in stark contrast to previous generations. Working under the same roof (or even in the same office) as other firms breeds dynamism, entrepreneurship and valuable opportunities to learn from others.”
