Basepoint Bake Off Event a Huge Success!

With 17 entries ranging from scones to sponges, the Basepoint bake off unearthed some secret chefs!

The entries kept piling in this morning, and included carrot cakes, chocolate sponges, brownies, scones and a variety of sponges.
Tensions were high as Graham from The Outrageous Cake Company turned up to professionally judge the cakes. Having judges cake competitions before, Graham knew exactly what he was looking for, and rated cakes based on appearance and taste. Once the deliberations were over, (and he had tasted all 18 entries!) the results were in!

1st Place was Emma from JDS Logistics with her Victoria Sponge

2nd Place was Brian(s mum!) from Seahawk Logitech with her Carrot Cake

3rd Place was Karen from AJ Senior Wealth Management with her Victora Sponge

And winning the soggy bottom spoon was Jess (with her still yummy) Lemon Drizzle Cake.

Not only did everyone get to indulge in a little baking (and cake eating!) but after the event the cakes were sold off to raise money for the charity Solving Kids' Cancer.
