Basepoint Waterlooville present cheque at the Elizabeth Foundation's Summer Fayre
Basepoint Waterlooville recently presented its sponsored charity, The Elizabeth Foundation (www.elizabeth-foundation.org - a national charity which supports infant and pre-school aged children with hearing loss) with a cheque for £1,500 after match-funding the proceeds raised at the their pre-school ‘Summer Fayre’ raffle. The event was attended by past and current pupils and their families, where they enjoyed an afternoon of fun family activities.
Earlier in June, Basepoint Waterlooville also attended The Elizabeth Foundation’s annual ‘Charity Golf Day and Gala Dinner’ held at The Old Thorns Golf and Country Club in Liphook, where the business centre presented the charity with an additional £1,500.
Brigitte Baker comments: “We’re very proud to continue our support of The Elizabeth Foundation. They do wonderful work with helping deaf children learn skills before they start school, and the many families who have benefitted are testament to their incredible work. We always have a fantastic time at their fundraisers, which are always family orientated and bring the community together!”
Alison Robinson, Fundraising Manager from The Elizabeth Foundation, adds: “We’re thrilled with Basepoint’s match-funding at our Golf Day and Summer Fayre. We raised a total of £13,000 from our events, which will pay for two pre-school places for a whole year. The money will enable two deaf children to attend our nursery sessions for 10 hours every week; where they will learn to lip-read, listen, and speak before they start school.”
