Macmillan World's Biggest Coffee Morning
This week we hosted a successful coffee morning to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Care.
Macmillan Cancer Care has been encouraging people to run fundraising coffee mornings on the same week each year since 1990 and since then the scheme has grown and grown. Basepoint Luton has supported the Macmillan World's Biggest Coffee morning for several years and 2018 was no exception.
As well as selling cakes and treats, we also ran a 'Guess the length of the veggie roll' competition which was won by Hannah from Licensee, Target Maintenance Group.
Fiona Wells, Centre Manager at Basepoint Luton, commented, "Thank you to everyone who joined us this year. Thanks to the generosity of our Licensees we raised over £70. According to Macmillan, £65 is enough to pay for a Macmillan grant which will enable a person with cancer to purchase a microwave oven to help make food preparation easier during their treatment."
