Networking Hub Focuses on Making Tax Digital

Ipswich

Septembers networking hub focused on getting local businesses ready for the new government tax legislation.

"Making Tax Digital is a key part of the government’s plans to make it easier for individuals and businesses to get their tax right and keep on top of their affairs - meaning the end of the annual tax return for millions.

Every individual and business now has access to their own personalised digital tax account and these are being regularly expanded and improved. HMRC’s ambition is to become one of the most digitally advanced tax administrations in the world, modernising the tax system to make it more effective, more efficient and easier for customers to comply."

Local Accountant Alistair Porter was luckily on hand to give a presentation in order to make the above more understandable and releavant to small businesses!

Alistair gave a 20 minute presentation and was on hand to answer questions whilst people networked and enjoyed a free buffet lunch at the centre on Friday 29th of September.

Speaking of the event, centre manager Alison Morrissey commented "This is a subject many business owners need to be aware of, as failure to comply could lead to some serious fines. We really appreciate Alistair taking the time to make this subject understandable to those at the event".
