Food Bank for FIND

Ipswich

Basepoint Ipswich have set up a food bank on site to assist Families in Need Ipswich.

With the cold weather and Christmas approaching it can be a tough time for the vulnerable in the community. FIND is a local charity commited to helping those who are deprived of a minimum standard of living- whether they be lone parents, children, elderly, sick, disabled or homeless.

The charity offers free of charge food, household items, furniture, nursery equipment and nappies, beds and bedding and, when available, cookers, washing machines and refrigerators. When appropriate, this also includes personal support. 

Basepoint staff and licensees love nothing more than assisting local worthwhile charities and so have set up a food bank in reception for people to donate their unwanted non-perishable goods.

Leanne Martin, Assistant Centre Manager commented, "Licensees have been really supportive of the food bank, with many commenting on it being a great idea. We all have tins knocking around in our cupboards that we won't eat so it makes sense togive these to others who will really appreciate them."
