ACUMEN BUSINESS ACADEMY

Crawley

We are delighted to invite you to the next ACUMEN BUSINESS ACADEMY session. November’s topic is: GDPR 6 months on- an important update, where do we stand now? As we approach six months since the GDPR came into force, there are already some very interesting lessons to be learnt that can directly affect your businesses.

In this Academy session, we will:
share these lessons with you, setting out the best ways to manage your own data protection and privacy compliance in light of these lessons;
cover some of the regulatory actions taken by the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO), which is the body that is policing the GDPR’s implementation;
refer to practical, real cases that some of our clients have faced since the GDPR came into force, including the impact on contracting with other parties, data subject requests and issues faced by companies operating internationally;
highlight further developments in the data protection landscape over the next 12 months;
include guidance on data breaches and cyber Insurance, in which you’ll be provided with an outline of what is and is not insurable in relation to data and cyber related issues.

The session will be run by our experts, Joni Jacobs, Commercial Law Specialist and Benjamin Rose, Paralegal specialising in commercial law and data protection at ACUMEN BUSINESS LAW. They are joined by Simon Vertue, Commercial Insurance Broker at RT Williams.

There is an interactive session with plenty of opportunity for questions. We have refreshments throughout with time to network before and after the session.
