BASEPOINT ROMSEY LAUNCHES CHRISTMAS CHARITY BANK

Romsey

With Christmas just around the corner Basepoint Romsey have launched an appeal for any good second-hand clothing, food and toys to assist charities Southampton City Mission and Scratch. Last year Scratch were able to help 1855 children and young people across Hampshire and this year we hope that with your support we can help even more.

Since 1996 when Southampton City Mission opened their first Basics Bank, they have been giving out free food and clothes to those in need in Southampton. As good as our State benefit system is, it often cannot respond quickly enough for life’s crises. Southampton City Mission work with referral agents to provide emergency food and clothes provision for those who fall through the gaps in the benefit net.

All of the food and clothes are donated by churches, schools, the public and businesses. Southampton City Mission will sort, store and make it available to their clients at various venues around the City on different days of the week and this year we would like to ask for your help?

Are you having a sort out leading up to Christmas? We would love to take any good unwanted second-hand clothes and toys. In addition, we would welcome any food with a good shelf life. Any new toys will be donated to the charity Scratch and all the food and clothing will be donated to Southampton City Mission.

All you need to do is call us on 01794 513 080 let us know a rough time of your arrival and you'll be able to park directly outside one of our Basepoint workshops to drop off any items.
