Basepoint Gosport donates nearly £500 to local charity
The Basepoint operated Gosport Business Centre is delighted to announce that it has presented a cheque for £497.46 to its chosen charity, Home-Start Gosport and Fareham, after match-funding proceeds fundraised at a series of events.
Home-Start Gosport and Fareham supports parents with at least one child under the age of five who are dealing with issues such as isolation, mental health, sickness, disability, domestic abuse, multiple birth or difficult relationships. A carefully selected volunteer who has parenting experience will regularly visit a family in their own home, offering emotional and practical support through difficult times. This parent to parent support is a simple yet effective way of giving hope and enabling families to get back on track.
Sarah-Jane Scott, the Scheme Manager, comments: “We are extremely grateful to Basepoint Gosport for continuing to support us as their charity for the year. They have been working tirelessly to help organise our family fun day on the 14th of September 2013, something which would have been a great struggle without their good local connections.”
Basepoint, who specialise in the development and operation of flexible business, innovation and enterprise centres, is owned by The ACT Foundation, a leading UK grant-making charity, dedicated to improving the quality of life of those in need. As such, each centre is dedicated to fundraising for a selected charity and The ACT Foundation match funds any money raised by the chosen charity, up to the value of £10,000 per centre.
Andrew Weston, Centre Manager for Gosport Business Centre, adds: “We’re pleased that this donation will help volunteers to continue their valuable work in the local community and we are really looking forward to the family fun day in September. A lot of local companies have been very generous in their support of this event.”
