Wiltshire Police and Crime Commissioner to speak at Basepoint Swindon’s upcoming Networking Hub

Swindon

Basepoint Swindon will be hosting its next ‘Networking Hub’, a popular free business networking event, on Wednesday 18 September, where the Police and Crime Commissioner for Wiltshire and Swindon will be talking about his role within the community

Police and Crime Commissioner Angus Macpherson is the first person to hold the post within the community, having been elected on 15 November 2012. As well as working as a magistrate for 20 years, Angus has been a leading member of the Wiltshire Police Authority and previously served as a member of Swindon Borough Council. He comments: “My vision for Wiltshire Police is for it to continue to provide a high standard of service against a background of reduced resources, and for the area it serves to remain one of the safest counties in England. I wish to build a stronger relationship with the local communities and businesses, in order to help support them and protect them against crime.”

Lyn Chapman, centre manager at Basepoint Swindon, adds: “This will be a great opportunity for the local businesses within the community to see that the police are taking note of their needs, as well as providing a chance for them to ask questions about any issues they may have.”

The free event is taking place at Basepoint Swindon on Wednesday 18th September from 12pm - 2pm and is open to everyone. For further information, please contact the team at Basepoint Swindon on 01793 608800 or email swindon@basepoint.co.uk
