Local Charity Looks to Assist More Veterans

Ipswich

Blind Veterans, a charity who work with war veterans who have lost their sight, are looking to reach more people on the 75th anniversary of the D-Day Landings.

Blind Veterans UK, who have offices with us here at Basepoint Ipswich, have been aiding those who lost their sight on D-Day and throughout the Second World War, caring for them not just at the point of sight loss- but throughout their lives.

On the 75th anniversary of D-Day, the charity has made a point of recognising the way these veterans rebuilt their lives at that time and ever since.

The charity, who aims to support anyone who has served in the Armed Forces, or who has done National Service, and who is now living with significant sight loss- run a variety of programs and events to help blind ex-Service men and women lead independent and fulfilling lives.

If you would like more information, or know of anyone who may benefit from the services this national charity offers, please have a look at their website- http://www.blindveterans.org.uk
