Hair Today, Gone Today
Basepoint Ipswich Centre Manager, Michelle Wootton, waved goodbye to her long, red hair to raise money for local charity Cancer Campaign in Suffolk.
On Monday 30th September Michelle Wootton, centre manager at Basepoint Ipswich, shaved off her long, red hair in aid of the centre’s sponsored charity, Cancer Campaign in Suffolk. The charity aims to improve access to high quality information and support services to cancer patients and their carers in Suffolk.
The head shave was completed by Sophie Bannister from Robinson’s Hair and Beauty, and was watched by many of the centre's licensees during the centre's coffee morning. The first hair-cut was auctioned off and successful licensee Louise Keely from Ikon Training took great pride in re-styling Michelle's long hair into a short bob.
Michelle comments: “Most of us know someone who has experienced cancer or been affected by it, that has been my inspiration and driving force to do this. So far I have raised £2,000, which will be match-funded by Basepoint's parent company, The Act Foundation. Knowing that the money that people have so generously donated will support people in Suffolk diagnosed with cancer has made my sacrifice completely worth while .”
