Dartford

For many people, the new year is an opportunity to concentrate on improving their health.

In order to encourage this, Basepoint Dartford has teamed up with the NHS to provide an opportunity for support and advice.

On Wednesday 15th January representatives from the NHS will be on site providing Health Checks and MOTs for all clients, staff and centre users. These sessions are free, confidential and a great way to ensure that your health is heading in the right direction.

What does a Health Check or MOT consist of, we hear you ask?

Those eligible for a Health Check must be aged between 40-74 and not be suffering from or taking medication for diabetes, blood pressure, chronic kidney disease or heart disease. The check consists of

  •  Height and weight measurements to ascertain BMI
  • Blood pressure reading
  • Cholesterol testing
  • Lifestyle questions on exercise and alcohol consumption levels
  • A heart age score will be given at the end of the Health Check

For those who are not eligible for a Health Check, an MOT can be carried out. There is no age restriction for an MOT and no cholesterol test is given.

There is a timetable at Reception for licensees to register their 40 minute slot and we hope licensees will make full use of the excellent service!
