BASEPOINT WATERLOOVILLE PRESENT CHEQUE AT THE ELIZABETH FOUNDATION'S ANNUAL BEETHOVEN BALL
Basepoint Waterlooville recently presented The Elizabeth Foundation (www.elizabeth-foundation.org), a national charity which supports infant and pre-school aged children with hearing loss with a cheque for £5,092.50 after match-funding the proceeds raised from an auction, raffle and table game at its annual Beethoven Ball. A grand total of £16,467.50 was raised from the evening event hosted at The Marriott Hotel in Portsmouth.
Attendees at the ball were treated to a cocktail reception and 3 course dinner, along with live entertainment from a Michael Bublé tribute cabaret and a speech from the charity’s CEO, Dr Sue Campbell. Raffle and auction prizes included a luxury beachfront holiday apartment for four people in South Africa, a chance to see The Lion King at The Lyceum Theatre in London, and a family ticket to Windsor Castle donated by Buckingham Palace.
Ali Robinson, Fundraising Manager at The Elizabeth Foundation, comments: “We are so delighted that Basepoint Waterlooville match-funded our prestigious Ball. The £5,000 will be going towards a pre-schooler’s place for one year in our nursery, which is run by specialist ‘Teachers of the Deaf’ on our Oral Deaf Education Programme. Without our early intervention, our little ones would not be learning such vital skills, such as lip-reading and learning to listen through their hearing aids as best as possible.”
Basepoint are proud to be one of the sponsors for this very worthwhile charity.
