Down to Earth Community Farm continues to flourish thanks to Basepoint Southampton
Basepoint Southampton recently visited its supported charity, Down to Earth Farm, to present them with a cheque for £2,763.03.
Members of the team in Southampton visited the farm’s brand new workshop to hand over the funding raised by a number of events throughout the year, including a summer BBQ.
Down to Earth Community Farm offers people the chance to interact with animals and the natural environment in a farm like setting. They are based on a five acre site made up of a farm, woodland area, growing area, pond, and a fully equipped building suitable for a range of indoor activities. They offer activities for vulnerable adults and other groups on set days as well as organising fundraising and open days to the general public, with facilities available to hire.
James Money, Centre Manager for Basepoint Southampton, comments: “Down to Earth Community Farm is a fantastic initiative for the local area and we are so pleased to be able to support it. The brand new workshop is an example of just how fundraising like this can help them and we look forward to supporting the development of the farm, and its facilities, in the future.”
Located in a progressive new commercial area close to the city centre, adjoining Ocean Village and the Itchen Bridge, Basepoint Southampton offers a wide range of facilities including affordable business units suitable for office or workshop use, on site café, high speed internet access, meeting rooms and free parking.
