Smile Support & Care invite Basepoint to their reception at the House of Lords
Karen Osborne, Area Manager at Basepoint attended a reception on 6th October 2011 at the House of Lords hosted by Lord Freeman, Vice Patron of the charity, Smile Support & Care. The event was held to raise awareness of its 18th Anniversary Appeal to raise £3.4 million to build a short-break and drop-in centre for disabled children and young adults.
The latest drawings of the bespoke facility were presented to the special guests who then enjoyed a personal tour of both the House of Lords and House of Commons. Basepoint’s Hampshire based centres are working with Smile this year and will support them to raise funds for this much needed facility. Basepoint pledge to match fund up to £80,000. A balloon race will be held in Waterlooville on 29th October 2011 by Basepoint to launch their commitment to Smile.
