Basepoint Ipswich charity relationship goes out on a high
Basepoint Ipswich recently presented their final cheque for £4,200 to Kate Higgs, CEO of the centre’s chosen charity, Out and About. The money was raised by the centre in a tandem skydive and match funding from The ACT Foundation.
Assistant Manager, Leanne Fowler, took part in the skydive, along with licensees Richard Jennis and Claire Thorpe (Simple Click), Gavin Sporle (Identity Web Design) and Marc Wilson (Wilson Forwarding).
The cheque presentation marks the end of a successful charity partnership with Out and About, with an incredible £18,932 fundraised over a three year period (with match funding) for the charity.
Michelle Wootton, centre manager at Basepoint Ipswich, commented: “It has been a pleasure to work with and support Out and About as the centre’s first local charity. We initially chose them having seen the fantastic work they do with disabled young people in the community. They have always been open-minded with fundraising ideas at our events, which has been great fun. I will personally never forget our 12ft fire walk across hot coals.”
Kate Higgs, CEO of Out and About, adds: “The past three years have been absolutely amazing and the team at Basepoint Ipswich have been so supportive of Out and About throughout that time. We are a small charity with limited resources, so the help of Michelle and her team has been invaluable in helping us meet our fundraising targets – the sky really was the limit!”
