For the past year, yourindies.com has been very busy with their mission – to support the UK’s independent businesses and small shops. So busy in fact that they’ve had to get someone else to help them. Determined to work only with the best, they recruited Oxford Brookes business and marketing graduate Joshua Speight.
Basepoint’s Ipswich business centre recently celebrated its first birthday by hosting a networking event for all of its licensees, which have increased from 3 to 51 licensees in just one year.
An informal meet up for all the existing clients at Canterbury Innovation Centre was held and, fortunately well attended even with the everlasting snow and icy conditions. There was a good turnout aided by the promise of free coffee, tea and muffins, courtesy of the Basepoint staff. It was the first chance for the clients to meet one another and find out more about what their neighbours do. Further meet ups are in the pipeline to encourage more internal networking and friendly banter!
Native Marine Life can certainly tell a fishy story with their new business set up at Basepoint Weymouth. The business supplies British native sea fish to aquariums and marine parks throughout the UK. MD Shaun Farnworth said “ My main customers are Sea Life Centres, who set up displays and require native British fish like, cod, plaice and shellfish. The fish have to be in perfect condition and are caught locally off the coast of Weymouth.” The business hopes to expand and sees the Basepoint Centre and its workshops as ideal for this operation, you could say “Basepoint is the plaice to be!”
