Basepoint Dartford's Christmas Collection Is Underway
The festive season of giving is quickly approaching and our Christmas charity drive is underway!
This year licensees at Basepoint Dartford will be donating tins and packets of food for Gravesend-based Gravesham Foodbank, which is part of "The Trussel Trust network of 428 foodbanks, working to tackle food poverty and hunger in our local communities, as well as across the UK.
The Foodbank Network was founded in 2004 after four years of developing the original foodbank based in Salisbury. Since then The Trussell Trust has helped communities work together to launch foodbanks nationwide in a wide range of towns and cities.
In 2018/19, The Trussell Trust’s Foodbank Network provided 1,583,668 three-day emergency food supplies and support to UK people in crisis. Of these, 577,618 went to children."
Our collection point will be in Reception and we will be collecting goods until Monday 16th December, at which point Basepoint staff will transport all donated items to their foodbank office. We welcome all in-date non-perishable food and hope that a wide range of items are contributed over the coming month.
For those that may need help selecting items to donate, a typical food parcel includes:
- Breakfast cereals
- Pasta sauce
- Tinned beans
- Tinned meat
- Tinned vegetables
- Tinned fruit
- Tea or coffee
