Christmas Charity Collections at Basepoint Folkestone

Folkestone

That time of year is now approaching and we would like to make collections this year for 3 great charities that need a helping hand.

We have collected for the Rainbow Centre/Shepway Food Bank in previous years and we will be doing that again this year along with collections for the Rhodes Minnis Cat Sanctuary and the RNIB.

All of these charities need help so anything you can donate will be much appreciated.

The Rainbow Centre is a charity that delivers a range of services in Shepway to provide support and hope to individuals and families experiencing deprivation or hardship.

Services they provide include a winter shelter for homeless people as well as homeless support services. They are also part of a nationwide network of food banks working to combat hunger and poverty.

Food donations are especially important since over 90% of the food they distribute is donated by the public.

The Rhodes Minnis Cat Sanctuary was founded by the late Miss Veronica Huthwaite in 1970. The Purpose of the charity is to take in and care for unwanted and homeless cats and kittens from Kent, London and sometimes further afield. Some are strays, others have been ill-treated or abandoned, but most are brought to them by their owners because, for one reason or another, they are unable to look after their pets any more.

RNIB-Used Stamps collection-

By collecting stamps you're helping to break down the barriers that stop people with sight loss living life to the full. The RNIB accept all stamps: new or used, first or second class, foreign, first day covers, presentation packs or albums. Stamps are sold by weight and they raise £20 per kilogramme of stamps, so it's a brilliant way to raise money.

We have crates located in our receception area where all donations can be made, if you are popping in to visit the centre and you would like to donate please place them here.
