Managed office provider announces significant growth plan

Since opening its first Centre in Romsey in 1994, Basepoint has supported thousands of businesses from start-ups to international blue chip companies and today it is home to over 2,000 companies. In September this year, Basepoint Business Centres opened its 31st Centre in Haywards Heath and more recently announced that planning permission has been granted for a new Centre in Broxbourne, which is due to open next year.

Since 1994, the portfolio has expanded through many different channels including newly built Centres, purchased properties that have been renovated and managed properties on behalf of Local Authorities and third parties.  Now, 21 years later Basepoint is planning to open a further 22 Centres by 2022, which will see its portfolio of Business Centres expand to over 50.

The expansion will see Basepoint deliver a network of business communities throughout the South of England, the Midlands and Wales.  This expansion will be delivered through the growth of their owned and managed properties as well as joint ventures and limited partnerships.  Each Centre will provide a home for innovation and entrepreneurs with its flexible and collaborative workspace as well as offering access to 24/7 business support through its MiBase service.

Brian Andrews, Managing Director at Basepoint Group of Companies, comments, “At Basepoint we aim to build business communities that add value to the areas they are in, rather than simply locating several businesses under one roof.  The planned growth is a continuation of the success we have achieved in the last 21 years.  Through the knowledge we have gained, we know that if we create the right environment to nurture businesses we can help them grow and succeed."

Although others have tried to mimic them, Basepoint remain unique in this sector not just because of the high levels of care and support they put into managed office services, but also because they are owned by The ACT Foundation, a leading UK grant-making charity dedicated to improving the quality of life of those in need. As such, 100% of the profit Basepoint Centres make is put back into local communities to support ACT’s charitable objectives and each Centre is also dedicated to fundraising for a selected local charity and The ACT Foundation match funds any money raised by the charity, up to the value of £10,000 per Centre.
