Age UK Suffolk Golf Day a huge success!

Ipswich

The Age UK Suffolk Golf Day, which is held bi-annually in the local area, enjoyed perfect weather and was attended by teams from across the county.

It is no surprise that the rolling fields of the Suffolk countryside lend them to a vast array of golf clubs, and keen golfing enthusiasts around the county. Centre charity Age UK Suffolk know this, and have been holding charity golfing tournaments for the last few years in order to raise much needed funds.

After a late morning snack of bacon rolls, teams headed out to the green for a 1pm 'Shotgun Start'. Refreshments of cold drinks and chocolate bars were provided on the green by AGE UK volunteers and fund-raising activities such as 'double or quits' on the second hole made for a very enjoyable afternoon for the teams taking part.

After completing the course, everyone was able to enjoy a much-needed drink and dinner at the clubhouse, followed by prizes for the winning teams and players, a raffle and an auction.

Assistant Manager Leanne Martin who assisted at the event, commented 'These events are fantastic in bringing together the local business community and is something Basepoint were happy to support and assist with. It raises funds for a fantastic charity who do wonderful work in the community."

In total the golf day and all associated activities raised over £1750- which is definitely something to be proud of!
