National Fitness Day

Bromsgrove

On Wednesday 26th September we’ll be joining workplaces up and down the country celebrating National Fitness Day by taking part in Flying Start. This initiative, launched by AXA PPP healthcare in 2017, encourages us all to reap the benefits of incorporating more activity into our working day.

How to get involved
Where circumstances allow we’ll be able come into work an hour later than normal provided we use that time to
do something active. And there are loads of ways to get involved.
 Simply having a more active commute is a great way of incorporating more activity into your day and
arriving at work more energised, alert and raring to go. Try walking or cycling instead of driving, getting
off the bus a few stops early or parking further away from the office and walking the rest of the way.
 Organise a team (or inter-team) event – a fancy dress relay race, a game of rounders in the park or a
stairs challenge are all ways of getting active and doing a bit of team bonding at the same time.
 Do your own thing! When it comes to ramping up your activity levels, the key to success is finding
something you enjoy doing. Dancing around the living room, gardening, going for a swim, practicing
some yoga or walking the dog all count.
We’re also encouraging you to come up with your own ideas – doing something you already enjoy, or
challenging yourself or your colleagues to do something a bit different. Whether your main motivation is fun or
fitness, let us know what you’re planning so we can inspire others to get involved

We will confirm nearer the date events within the centre.
