World Mental Health Day 2018

Bromsgrove

World Mental Health Day is on 10 October and is a day for global mental health education, awareness and advocacy against social stigma. This year’s focus is on young people and mental health in a changing world. It was first celebrated at the World Federation for Mental Health, a global mental health organisation with members and contacts in more than 150 countries.

Julie Bullock, Centre Manager of Basepoint Business Centre in Bromsgrove took part in the Birmingham Walking out of Darkness 10K event on Sunday 7th October. Julie's chosen charity is Springfield Mind who are a charity based in Warwickshire and Worcestershire supporting better mental health.

There are 7 'Walking Out Of Darkness' events taking place in 2018, each of which is an enjoyable 10K route though each city. Charities and services will be there on the day offering mental health advice, information and support including self-care for everyone to improve their own mental wellbeing.

'Walking Out Of Darkness' invites everyone to walk their family, friends and work colleagues; supporting people suffering mental ill-health, helping end the stigma surrounding mental illness, raising mental health awareness, creating zero suicide communities and fundraising for local and regional charities, across the country.
