Race for Life 2019

Romsey

Basepoint Romsey's community manager, Sam Snape, family and friends took part in Race for Life 5k in Winchester on Sunday 26th May to support Cancer Research UK. Sam and the team have raised a fantastic amount of money, over £1,000 for Cancer Research UK.

Cancer Research UK’s Race for Life is a series of events raising money for research into all 200 types of cancer. Over the past 20 years, more than 8 million people have taken part in the Race for Life, raising over £547 million to fund the charity’s life-saving work. But it does not stop there. The events are open to everyone: women, men, children, families and friends.

This year’s Winchester Race for Life made history over the bank holiday weekend by allowing men to run the course as well as women and children. Runners of all ages made their way around the circuit at North Walls Recreation Ground on Sunday morning with buggies and dogs even taking part.

Last year, over 700 women ran the Winchester race and raised more than £50,000 for Cancer Research UK.
