Basepoint Waterlooville presents cheque for £1,455 to charity
Basepoint Waterlooville recently presented The Elizabeth Foundation, a national charity which supports infant and pre-school aged children with hearing loss, with a cheque for £1,455 after match-funding the proceeds raised from an auction held in the evening.
A grand total of £10,350 was raised from the day which included a golf tournament, auction and dinner at The Old Thorns hotel in Hampshire. At the golf event 22 teams battled it out to help raise funds for The Elizabeth Foundation; with Basepoint fielding two teams, one headed by Basepoint’s Executive Trustee of The ACT Foundation and Chairman, Denis Taylor, and the other by Basepoint’s Managing Director, Brian Andrews, who managed to win both games! Following a dinner and auction at the hotel local ex-Portsmouth goalkeeper, Alan Knight gave a brief talk on the life of a footballer followed by a Q&A session.
Loraine Ede, Assistant Manager comments: “We’re delighted to present this cheque to our charity, The Elizabeth Foundation, and hope that the money enables them to continue their amazing work within the local community.”
The Elizabeth Foundation believes that every child has the right to be given the opportunity to learn to listen and talk. They provide a range of services and support to young deaf children and babies and their families.
