Basepoint Business Centres Save Dorset Blind Association's Young Blind Club from Closure.
With just a few days left the total stood at £8,985, which was £3,015 short of the amount needed by 27th June when the club leader’s contract was due to end.
Dorset Blind Association needed one last push of support from the community to keep this life-saving club for those who attend. They wanted to make sure the club is around for people who may need it in the future and put out a final push for support in the local press and also on the BBC Spotlight programme.
With support from many local and National businesses, it was the generous final donation from Basepoint Business Centres that enabled them to reach their target in time.
Carly Thompson, Regional Manager at Basepoint said: 'We're owned by a charitable trust, The Act Foundation, which is dedicated to improving the quality of life for those in need, so as soon as we heard about the appeal, we wanted to help'.
Dorset Blind's Fundraising Manager, Jaya Da Costa was delighted to receive Basepoint's donation and was speechless when Carly rang her to tell her the fantastic news.
