Tewkesbury

Football club Forest Green Rovers has said it will deliver 100 vegan meals to local families during half term next week. Families within the Nailsworth area will be able to take part in the league-two side's offering, which is among many businesses in the country prepared to offer meals

The league-two side is among many businesses across the country stepping in to help feed children during half term.

The move comes as Manchester United footballer Marcus Rashford is among people mounting pressure on the Government to change its free school meals policy ahead of the school holidays.

To take part in Forest Green Rovers' offer, families can email community@fgr.co.uk.

As of yesterday (October 23), there are 16,750 children living in low income households who are entitled to free school meals, according to Gloucestershire County Council.
